Join Our Movement
Even with talented dancers, involved alumni, an innovative artistic staff and outstanding volunteers, Ballet Excel Ohio relies on the support of the community. The Ohio Arts Council, Akron Community Foundation, Peg's Foundation, Clara Faber Foundation, The Mary S. and David C. Corbin Foundation, Noble Foundation and many more incredible organizations make Ballet Excel Ohio, and its outreach programs, accessible to the youth of our community.
We recently started an agency endowment fund at Akron Community Foundation as a way to ensure a permanent, predictable stream of funding for our mission. The Cuyahoga Valley Youth Ballet (dba Ballet Excel Ohio) Fund welcomes gifts of all kinds, including cash, bequests, closely held stock, real estate, life insurance and retirement assets. Gifts can be made online at www.akroncf.org/give/BalletExcelOhioFund or by calling 330-376-8522.

Volunteer
Ballet Excel Ohio is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization that is entirely volunteer run. We are proud of our history of professionalism, and consistently amaze choreographers and the arts professionals with whom we work. Our dedicated group of volunteers (many of them parents of the dancers) donates thousands of hours managing the organization, raising funds, promoting, scheduling and producing the incredible works of art made possible under the Artistic Direction of Mia Klinger.

For more than 45 years, Ballet Excel Ohio has served the community and has fulfilled its mission by performing ballets that are danced BY CHILDREN AND FOR CHILDREN and their families.
Ballet Excel is a nationally-recognized pre-professional youth ballet company with classically trained dancers, bringing original ballets to local schools and community venues in Northeast Ohio.
Education in the arts is such a critical component to the overall academic success of our young people and remains an important part of the learning process. Performance art training requires intense focus, attention to detail, development of core strength, and provides overall fitness. Ballet Excel is proud of our community programs that help fulfill our mission:
- Reach Out and Dance (ROAD®)
- BXO on Tour
- Community Tickets,
- Go See It: Scouting for the Arts
- to help fulfill our mission.
It is because of our community’s generous support and participation that we have been able to provide arts education to children in the Akron, Cuyahoga Falls, and Woodridge school systems through our ROAD® program AT NO COST to the families that participate.
